Hemsedal July 2022

In July 2022, we packed our bags and headed for Hemsedal.
Five days. Fresh mountain air. Long summer evenings. A trip we still talk about today.

The best part was that everyone enjoyed it.
The children were between 5 and 20 years old, yet somehow the mountains brought us all together.

The drive into Hemsedal already felt special.
Tall mountains surrounded the roads. Rivers rushed beside us. Small cabins stood quietly in the distance. It felt calm from the very beginning.

Every morning started with cool air and beautiful views.
Even in July, the mountains carried a refreshing chill. It was the kind of weather that makes you want to stay outside all day.

Some of us loved the hiking trails.
Others enjoyed simply walking near the water and taking photos. The younger children found adventure everywhere — rocks to climb, streams to cross, and endless places to explore.

The older kids enjoyed the freedom.
No stress. No busy schedules. Just nature, laughter, and time together.

One of the best moments was sitting together in the evenings.
After long days outdoors, everyone gathered to eat, talk, and relax. The sunsets over the mountains were unforgettable.

Hemsedal in summer has a peaceful beauty.
Green valleys replace the winter snow. Waterfalls flow strongly from the melting mountains. Everywhere you look feels like a postcard.

What made the trip truly special was not only the place.
It was the feeling of being together. Five days away from normal life gave us time to slow down and enjoy each other’s company.

The younger children will probably remember the fun and excitement.
The older ones may remember the quiet moments, the views, and the freedom of the mountains.

Even now, years later, the memories still feel fresh.
A simple summer trip.
But one filled with laughter, nature, and moments that stayed with us long after we returned home.
